Servo invests in data centre expansion across UK facilities
Servo is investing to expand its data centre facilities in Leeds and Farnborough to cater for accelerating market demand for secure hosted services and outsourcing. The company intends to increase its existing capacity by almost 25 per cent initially, with further space being added over the next three to five years.
As Martin O’Donnell, Hosting Services Director for Servo, comments, “We are finding that demand for secure hosting facilities is strong and we are building our capability to cater for that growing demand. The advantages of outsourcing are widely recognised in mid-sized businesses across all industry sectors as they demand more from their technology infrastructures but do not have the internal skills to support that demand. We take the strain from them and leave them to concentrate on their core business.
Servo has a proven track record in delivering hosted services and outsourcing to mid-sized companies, delivering the benefits of improved efficiency, reduced costs and reduction in their environmental impact through lower energy consumption. Prevailing market trends and conditions are making hosted services and outsourcing an attractive proposition to more companies wishing to take a tighter grip on their cost-base whilst focusing on their own area of trading expertise.”
The development will see the existing facilities expand to 15,000 square feet of data centre capacity in the North and South of the UK.
The first phase of this planned expansion is now complete and Servo’s business development team has almost filled the additional capacity. New expansion phases will be released shortly, bringing additional facilities on stream to meet the ever burgeoning market demand.
