Regeneration project for Derwent
Derwent Community Team (DCT) is a regeneration project currently working under the "New Deal for Communities” initiative. DCT is a collaboration between residents, Derby City Council and third party agencies in order to deliver and meet strategic goals. These goals include improving the quality of life to residents by improving health and housing, creating a community of lifelong learning, a safer neighbourhood, and building a vibrant local economy.
Getting the right IT partner to support community initiatives
Technology was to provide the foundation for these community initiatives and when DCT was first established, the IT service was delivered by the council’s IT partner. But a more innovative and flexible service was needed to support the community projects and Servo was selected to design and implement a brand new, more flexible IT infrastructure.
Exceptional managed service and predictable cost
Servo now provide the ongoing support of this infrastructure through a managed service, incorporating a critical-server-support solution. The end result offers DCT enterprise-class IT support with predictable costs, enabling DCT's own internal resource and expertise to be focussed on strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the value of IT in the community.
Simon Brown, IT Manager for DCT recently wrote to Servo to compliment the service we provide, saying "I would like to take this opportunity to give a huge thank you for the support delivered to our organisation over the last year. I would especially like to thank the technical support team for the delivery of an exceptional managed service. I’m sure that Servo will continue to be part of our service delivery projects especially after delivering 100% service availability since January 2004."
